Day 1 of 7
What anxiety is
Anxiety is your body's alarm system. It is designed to protect you: your heart beats faster, your breathing quickens and your muscles get ready to act.
After frightening or uncertain times, the alarm can become very sensitive and go off even when there is no immediate danger. That's not your fault, and it's not weakness — it's a body working hard to keep you safe.
The good news: anxiety responds to practice. This week you'll learn skills that calm the body, settle the mind and help you face things again.

Notice three signs of anxiety in your body today — a tight chest, a racing heart, tense shoulders. Just notice them; no need to change anything.

These tools support your wellbeing — they are not therapy or an emergency service. If you are in danger, call local emergency services (in Afghanistan: police 119, medical 102).
